Wyo Supreme Court Justice Michael Davis Retiring In January

      Wyoming Supreme Court Justice Michael Davis plans to retire next January after a year on the high court. 

       Davis served as chief justice for 3 years before stepping down July 1st. Current Chief Justice Kate Fox, his successor, says Davis plans to retire Jan. 16.

      . Gov. Mark Gordon will choose a successor from a list of 3 names that will be submitted to him by the state Judicial Nominating Commission.

It will be Gordon’s first appointment to the state Supreme Court.

     Davis spent 4 years as a state district judge before being named to the Supreme Court.

He graduated with honors from the University of Wyoming law school in 1980 and was in private practice until being named to the bench.
