Xenile Maxine (Wineteer) Nixon was born October 16, 1930, to Ada Mae (Davis) Wineteer and Howard Curtis Wineteer. She passed away on July 7, 2022, at Crest View Care Center in Chadron

Xemile had two brothers, Curtis and Robert, waiting to greet her when she was born, and was later joined by a sister, Betty Jean. She grew up at Oelrichs, SD, until 8th grade, when her dad and mom moved the farmily to Chadron, Ne.

She met her Cowboy Gene as a high school sophomore at the Roller-Skating Rink, where he was putting skates on skaters. Xenile lost her skates a lot at that time and they dated until Dec 19, 1949 when they were married.

Xenile and Gene worked on ranches until they had a chance to lease a ranch and then later buy it. They raised their children there: Michael Eugene, Eric Eugene, Dave Eugene, Gloria Gay, Mary Maxine, and Billi Irene.

She loved to work in her yard, ride horses, and seeing her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Xenile had been married about a month short of 64 years when she lost her Cowboy Gene in 2013. She was also preceded in death by sons Dave, Michael, and Eric.

Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron is in charge of arrangements for Xenile Nixon.
