Zhaine is survived by his mother, Gwendyllyn Smoke of Rapid City, SD; father, Clayton Merrill of Rapid City, SD; brothers, Xzhavier Red Wing and Ezhiquiel Smoke both of Rapid City, SD; sisters, Echo Halligan of Rapid City, SD, Amya Wise of Sioux Falls, SD, and Isabella Merrill of Rapid City, SD; great grandmothers, Marjorie Belt and Virginia Yankton both of Pine Ridge, SD; aunts, Oleaupi Good Lance of Seattle, WA, Edna Moves Camp of Oglala, SD, Serena Belt of Pine Ridge, SD, and Char Merrill of North Platte, NE; uncles, Emil American Horse of Gordon, NE, Wendyll Smoke of Porcupine, SD, and Casey Merrill of Sturgis, SD; close friend, Sohalia Kills In Water of Rapid City, SD; and numerous extended family and cousins.
Zhaine was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Loren Black Elk and Bertha Smoke; paternal grandparents, Thomasina Belt and Ike Merrill; aunt, Okinya Smoke; uncle, John Smoke; maternal great grandparents Melvin Emil Smoke and Irene (Red Shirt) Smoke, and paternal great grandparents, Samuel and Elizabeth (Flood) Belt.
Pallbearers will be Marques Palmier, Andre Palmier, Patrick Brewer, Xzhavier Red Wing, Clayton Jealous of Him, Casey Merrill, Kobe White Calf, and Mackson American Horse.

A two night wake service for Zhaine Isaiah Smoke will start at 4 on Thursday July 18, 2024 at the Porcupine School Gym in Porcupine.
Funeral Service will be at 2 on Saturday July 20, 2024 at the Porcupine School Gym with cremation to follow the service.
