The 30th Chadron Festival of Quilts is here again, running today through Sunday at the Dawes County Fairgrounds Event Center with the theme “Disappearing Blocks.”
Hours are 9-5 today and 12-4:00 Sunday.
Spokesman Caroline Brennan says there are no big changes like last year, when the festival moved to the Fairgrounds from its long-time home at the Assumption Arena, but there is a little tweak to the $5 admission fee.
Over 200 quilts were entered and hung yesterday, but the festival also includes a number of talks and presentations with 6 of them. Brennan says the last at 3:30 features one of the Festival organizers.
Brennan is also excited about this year’s Featured Quilter, Sheridan County native Linda Andersen of Lakeside
Andersen will lead a walking tour of the festival today at 2:00 and give her featured presentation tomorrow, also at 2:00.
The Chadron Festival of Quilts also has over a dozen sponsors of door prizes, trunk shows, fabric bingo, a quilt raffle, and a scavenger hunt that runs all weekend.
