The special session of the South Dakota House on possible impeachment of Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg will start with the committee in charge of the effort hiring legal counsel to guide their probe.Â
The House investigative committee met for the first time Wednesday and reviewed state law on impeachment, but held off on any further action until they hire an attorney.
The panel is looking into Ravnsborg’s conduct before, during, and after a traffic accident last year when he hit and killed a pedestrian walking along a rural highway
The committee work is expected to take months as they look into the criminal investigation of the crash, which led Ravnsborg to plead guilty to a pair of traffic violations.
