The consultant heading up the initial search for a new president at Western Nebraska Community College says she’s already reaching out to potential candidates and urging them to apply.
Dr Angela Provart of The Pauly Group told the school’s Board of Governors by video on Wednesday that she’s looking forward to meeting with the members of the Search Advisory Committee, whose names were released the same day.
The member committee has 4 members from the board, including Board Chair Lynne Klemke and Dr Margaret Crouse of Chadron, 2 WNCC faculty members, 2 college staffers, and 4 community members.
Dr Provart and her company will do the initial gathering and vetting of applications, then send those that passed muster on to the committee. Klemke said it’s likely the bulk of the committee’s work will be in the first 4 months of next year.
Provart plans to be in the Panhandle next month to make an in-person assessment of WNCC, visiting the main Scottsbluff campus on Dec 7 and both the Sidney and Alliance campuses the next day.
She said she’s excited to see the differences in the campuses so that when potential applications ask her about them and the students, she can offer a first-hand outside perspective.
