Services honoring the life of 87-year-old Betty Linenbrink of Cody, NE, lovingly known as “the pie lady,” are Tuesday, Dec 20, 2022, at 10:00 at St Leo’s Catholic Church in Gordon, NE.
Following the services, Betty will be laid to rest next to her husband Vince at the Gordon Cemetery.
Vigil services will be held Monday, Dec 19, at 6:00 at St Leo’s Catholic Church in Gordon.

Betty Linenbrink was born on Dec 12, 1934, the only girl out of 5 children to Warren Robinson and Lettie (Baker) Robinson, and left this world much too soon on Dec 7, 2022, just 5 days before her 88th birthday.
Growing up in hard times instilled a work ethic like no other in Betty, but she still found fun in her days with her ponies, dog, and a few toys.
Baking her first pie (lemon) at the age 11 must have instilled a deep love for baking and cooking because she would go on to bake thousands of pies.
Betty worked at several restaurants in Martin, SD, including the Markota Drive-In and for many, many, wonderful years at the Martin Sale Barn. Betty was also very active catering meals for all kinds of families, ranch auctions, and activities all around the Martin area.
On Dec 14, 1954, Betty married Vince Linenbrink. They would spend 41 years together working at the Jess McGinley ranch, leasing a ranch south of Whitman, NE, and finally moving to their own ranch near Tuthill, SD.
Betty and Vince grew some of the finest registered Charolais cattle ever seen, showing their cattle for years at the Denver National Western Stock Show and having annual bull sales.
The whole time they were ranching by Tuthill, Betty also worked full time in Martin, maintained the home, and helped on the ranch every day. She was a keen businesswoman and a harder working woman we have never seen and probably will never see again.
Betty and Vince raised 7 children they loved completely: Steven Linenbrink of Raton, NM; Vicki (Clay) Bolden of Lusk, WY; Tom (Dawnne) Linenbrink of Junction City, OR; Rosalie (Ed) Urlacher of Roseburg, OR; Timothy Linenbrink of San Diego, CA; Donna Lee of Wyoming and Suzi (Tommy) Armstrong of Cody, NE.
She was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as many very good friends that she would treasure all her life.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Vince, father, mother, brothers Ed, Clarence, Arnie and Larry, and niece Teresa Burnett.
