Chadron State College sophomore forward Ashayla Powers was picked by a select Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference committee on Monday as the league’s Women’s Basketbal Offensive Player of the Week, as announced at RMACSports.org.
Powers earns Offensive Player of the Week for the first time this season after leading the Eagles in a 77-70 win over MSU Denver last weekend. The Longmont, Colorado, native shot lights-out with a 63 percent field-goal average to close the contest with 26 points. She also pulled down eight rebounds and dished out three assists over the course of 29 minutes on the floor.
She is the first Eagles’ player recognized with the weekly honor since Taryn Foxen on February 24, 2020.
