CSC Looking For New Head Track Coach

Loading

Chadron State College Head Track and Field Coach Seth Mischke will step down from his position, effective June 30.

“Congratulations to Seth and his family,” CSC Athletic Director Joel Smith said. “Seth helped advance our track program and left a foundation for the next coach to build on. We wish the Mischkes success in their next endeavor.”

Mischke led the Eagles for only 10 months, coming on last August after Riley Northrup unexpectedly resigned in July when his wife got a job at South Dakota State University. Northrup himself also ended up with a position at SDSU.

The reason for Mischke’s departure is similar. He told his athletes in an email that his wife got a job in another city, so they’re moving.

Despite his limited time at CSC, Mischke left his mark. Eagle throwers earned 5 All-America awards and 4 RMAC individual championships in his lone season as head coach.

AD Smith says Mischke played a vital part in the organization and planning of CSC hosting the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships for the first time on April 28-30. The event was also the first track meet held on Chadron State’s new outdoor track facility.

The process for finding a new head track and field coach at Chadron State is already underway
