Two incidents in the last several days remain under investigation by the Chadron Police Department.
Chadron Police are searching for an individual accused of cutting another with a knife over the weekend. Lt. Walz said the incident was reported as second-degree assault in the 300 block of Cedar Street at just before 3 a.m. Sunday. The reporting party said he was cut with a knife, but police have been unable to locate the alleged attacker. The matter is still under investigation.
The department is also investigating a possible car theft that led to the recovery of the car from the Chadron City Dams. How the car ended up submerged in the dams is unknown, said Lt. Walz, and there are conflicting reports as to ownership of the car, which was reported stolen from the 200 block of Chapin Street Aug. 9.
A 14-year-old missing Saturday from the 400 block of Pinecrest Drive was located at a different address on Sunday and has been returned to her guardians.
The police also served a search warrant over the weekend in the 800 block of Maple Street, arresting a 33-year-old male on a warrant for failure to comply with a citation out of Sheridan County.
