Funeral services for 70-year old Andrew Clayton Cutt Sr are Sunday, Jan 23, 2022 at noon at the T&T Center in Parmelee, SD, with traditional Lakota services by Russell Eagle Bear and Richard Moves Camp

Burial is at Gethsemane Episcopal Cemetery in Wanblee, SD.

A two-night wake service will be held with the first night starting Friday, Jan 21, at 1:00 MT at the Parmelee Community Hall in Parmelee and the second night Sat, Jan 22, at 2:00 at the T&T Center in Wanblee.

Andrew Clayton Cutt Sr “Hin Sa” was born on September 25, 1951, in Wanblee, SD, to Isaac Cutt and Helen (No Moccasin) Cutt.  Andrew made his journey to the Spirit World on January 12, 2022 at the Eagle Butte I.H.S. Hospital in Eagle Butte, SD.

Andrew Cutt Sr and Carmen J. King were united in marriage on March 14, 1995.  They lived in Aberdeen, SD and Andrew worked for Nordling Construction until May of 1998, when they moved to Rapid City, SD, and he worked as a Security Guard at Sioux San Hospital.  

Together, they decided to move to the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation-Blackfoot, SD in May of 1999.  Andrew started going to college in Aberdeen, SD and decided to continue his education at Oglala Lakota College in Eagle Butte, SD.  

He completed his Lakota Studies and taught Lakota Culture in Wakpala, SD and for a time at the Little Eagle Day School in Little Eagle, SD.  

Andrew was diagnosed with multiple myoloma cancer in September of 2012, he fought a long hard battle until his heart was affected.  Andrew finally succumbed to the cancer on January 12, 2022.  

Andrew was a very kind, traditional Lakota man; he always remembered his roots and would return “home” to Rosebud and Pine Ridge for pow-wows, sundances, and ceremonies. 

Andrew loved his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews with all of his heart.  He will be greatly missed by everyone.  

Andrew is survived by his wife, Carmen J. Cutt; children, Andrew C. Cutt, Jr., Kaylene Williams, Diana (Lenny) Small, Melanie (Artie) Whirlwind Horse, and Forrest King; siblings, Homer (Lee) & Margaret Cutt, Ronnie Cutt, Talbert & Marcella Cutt, Lavina, Corinna Lori Cutt, and Shirley Horned Antelope; grandchildren, Andrea, Donesha, Clayton, Andi & Jackson Cutt, Farron, Evan, & Damon King, Jayden Small, MiKayla, Coy, & Jordan Whirlwind Horse; and three great grandchildren.

Andrew was preceded in death by his father, Isaac Cutt; mother, Helen (No Moccasin) Cutt; sisters, Charlotte Eagle Bull, Elsie No Moccasin, and Mary Jane Cutt; brothers, Francis and Jackson Cutt; aunts & uncles, Angeline Runs Above, Marjorie Sharpfish, Cora No Moccasin, Alden No Moccasin, George No Moccasin, Edith Poor Bear, Martha Spotted Elk, and Isabelle` Cutt.  

Pallbearers will be Jake Black Bull, Jackson Red Bird, Marcus Martin, Eugene Swift Hawk, Marlon Leading Fighter, Clayton Cutt, Jackson Cutt, Kevin Black Bull, Quentin Leading Fighter, and Marty “Misun” Waters.

Honorary pallbearers will be Adrian Little Thunder & Family, Blaine Little Thunder & Family, Ernest Red Elk & Family, Calvin Red Elk & Family, Albert Shot, Austin Smith, Alonzo Smith, Oakie Smith, Robert “Bobcat” Shot, Floyd Little Elk, John Flying Horse, Sr., Elliott Little Bear, Peter W. Two Hearts, Elroy LeBeau & Family, Verlon LeBeau, & Family, and All Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Relatives, & Friends.
