The Chadron Police Department says authorities have identified the man they believe robbed the Chadron Federal Credit Union at gunpoint last month, but aren’t releasing his name at this time.
The Chadron police are working on the case with multiple federal agencies and Chadron Investigator Dusty Bryner says there are investigatory and safety reasons for not releasing the name at this time.
When the robbery occurred on May 12, security video provided clear photos of the suspect who had fled the Credit Union on foot, but authorities still didn’t have a name the next day.
Investigator Bryner says it took about 2 days of painstaking work to come up with a name for the man in the photos – with tying him to a car the key step.
Bryner, a former Hemingford police chief, says authorities believe the man is no longer in this region and might be in one of the southern states – possibly with the vehicle used in the robbery.
