A Chadron man is in the Dawes County Jail with bond of $250,000 after being arrested Thursday night on 2 felony counts following an incident at a Chadron mobile home park.

38-year old Conrad Randall is charged with Assault by Strangulation and 2nd-Degree Domestic Assault for the incident. He’s also being held on outstanding warrants from Dawes and Sheridan Counties.

When Chadron Police Sgt Patrick Young and Officer Seth Orsborn went to the mobile park to investigate a report of a disturbance at a residence, they were told a woman had been attacked by Randall, but was able to flee and call 911.

The woman told Orsborn that Randall hit her in the arm and leg with a hammer, shot her in the forehead with an air rifle, and strangled her.

Orsborn and Young searched the residence, but didn’t find Randall. They did locate and seize the hammer and air rifle believed to have been used in the assault.

They left, but returned later after being told Randall had returned to the area. A second search of the residence was conducted and Orsborn found Randall hiding inside. Randall was taken into custody and booked into the jail.
