Burial is at the St Ignatius Catholic Cemetery in Wanblee

Brenda Lou Bettelyoun-Yankton was born on November 22, 1967 in Pine Ridge, SD to Eugenia (Witt) Bettelyoun and Rossie Bettelyoun, Sr. Brenda made her journey to the Spirit World on January 16, 2024 at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

Brenda is survived by her significant other, Marlin Fineran; sons, William Bettelyoun and Royden Yankton, Jr. (Natasha), both of Wanblee, SD and Roylynn Yankton of Martin, SD; daughters, Ragenia Bettelyoun-LeBeau (Tyler) of Wanblee, SD, Rebecca and Robin Yankton, both of Rapid City, SD; grandchildren, Brenden Bettelyoun, Treyton Wounded Head, Lou Shane Garnette, Autumn Bettelyoun, Alex Bettelyoun, and Abrielle Yankton; sisters, Lois Bettelyoun, and Tina Standing Soldier; brothers, Edward, Lawrence and Ross Bettelyoun, all of Wanblee, SD, Clifford Bettelyoun of Belvidere, SD, Timothy Swallow of Arizona, and Albert Bettelyoun of Antelope, SD; aunt, Eva Bettelyoun-Martinez; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Eugenia (Witt) Bettelyoun and Rossie Bettelyoun, Sr.; husband, Royden Yankton, Sr.; uncles, Nathaniel Witt, Sidney Witt, Patrick Witt, Lawrence Witt, Nelson Witt, Francis Witt, Leroy Bettelyoun, Frank “Jay” Bettelyoun, and Percy Bettelyoun; aunts, Dora Bettelyoun-Brill, Bertha Bettelyoun-Dillon, and Prudy Bettelyoun-Whipple; brothers, Alvin “Jake” Bettelyoun, Sr., Harley Bettelyoun, and George Bettelyoun, Sr.; daughter, Autumn Rose Bettelyoun; grandson, Royden Yankton III; nephews, Jason Bettelyoun, Sr., Quintin “Joe” Standing Soldier, Nathaniel Bettelyoun, Trenton Bettelyoun, Marty Bettelyoun, and Brandon Bettelyoun; nieces, Kalonni Randall and Mary Bettelyoun; and many more relatives.

Pallbearers will be Alvin “Jake” Bettelyoun, Jr., Darrin Bettelyoun, Edward “Patches” Bettelyoun, Jr., Jeremy Bettelyoun, Tony Bettelyoun, Eric Bettelyoun, Brice Long Soldier, and Cody Whiting.
