Funeral services for 41-year old Candace Red Cloud are Friday, April 21, 2023 at 11:00 at Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD, with Apostle Pedro Sharpfish officiating.
Burial is at the Body of Christ Church Cemetery in Pine Ridge, SD.
Visitation is Wed, April 19, from 10:00 – noon at the On Common Ground Church in Rapid City, followed by the start of a two-night wake service at 2:00 at Brother Rene Hall in Oglala.

Candace Eleanor Red Cloud was born on April 20, 1981 in Pine Ridge, SD to Peter Black Bear and Marletta Red Cloud. Candace made her journey to the Spirit World on April 8, 2023 near Manderson, SD.
Candace is survived by her mother Marletta (Joe Carpenter) Red Cloud; daughters Charlize Rodriguez and Rebecca Shields; son Brandon Rodriguez; brothers Wanbli Isnala Morris, Julius Morris, and Silas Little Brave; sister Brandi Red Cloud; aunts Neomi (Ed Anderson) Red Cloud, Monique White Bear Claws, Marquetta Peltier, Audrey (Dennis Sr) Martinez, Audrey (Jay) Thompson, Lexie Shield, Sheena Between Lodges, and Latrell & Denise Plenty Arrows; and grandmothers Audrey Shields and Edna Plenty Arrows
She is also survived by cousins Wanblee Win Red Cloud, Stacey Red Cloud, Billy Jo Brewer, Robert Brewer, Francis Brewer, Lance Red Cloud, Pedro Red Cloud, Anna Takes the Shield, and Savannah Red Cloud; nieces, Kristina Rencountre, Jennifer Big Crow, Taya Red Cloud, Lexi Red Cloud, and Roberta Little; nephews Mato Red Cloud, Jeremy Red Cloud, and Julius Morris,Jr.; and cousins, Jasmine Thompson, Duka Thompson, Perlie Martinez, Rachel Martinez, Dennis Martinez Jr, Jerrick Thompson Jr, Thomas Takes the Shield, Eddie Shields, Edwin Shields, Dan Hand, Sam Hand, Marissa Shields, and Hazel Shields.
Candace was preceded in death by her father Pete Black Bear; grandmothers Hazel Shields-Little Hawk, Eleanor Red Cloud, Lillian Sharpfish, Agnes Little Hawk, Marie Red Cloud, Celeste Brings, Faye Red Cloud, Cathy Little Hawk, and Faye Black Bear; grandfathers Sylvan Little Hawk, Hebie Starr, Rudy Understanding Crow, Walter J Red Cloud, Andrew Rodriguez, Lloyd Fire Thunder, Wilbur Between Lodges, and Gilbert Black Bear; uncles Larvie Red Cloud, Kenneth Red Cloud, Wahacanka Peltier, Edward Shields, and Manley Little Brave; aunts Datie Little Brave and Christina Little Brave; cousin Joshua Red Cloud; and special friend Brant Good Lance.
