The Chadron High boys and girls basketball teams rolled into the championship games of the Chadron Rotary George Watson Holiday Classic as both had dominating wins over Hemingford on Thursday.
Haylee Wild had a career high 11 points in her first career start and was matched by 11 from Tavera Sayaloune as the Chadron girls won 55-9 and will now face Custer in the championship on Friday at 1:00 pm. Custer took down Valentine 33-31.
The Cardinals built a 32-5 halftime lead and had the clock running by late in the 3rd quarter.
Demi Ferguson also hit double figures with 10 points as 9 of the 12 players suited up scored.
The Chadron boys knocked down 11 3-pointers and ran out to a 43-19 halftime lead, to defeat Hemingford 63-26.
Gage Wild had 15 points and Xander Provance tallied 10, all in the first half as the Cardinals won back to back games for the first time this season.
Chadron will play Custer, a 75-50 winner over Valentine, in the boys championship game on Friday at 2:30 pm.
