The Chadron High volleyball team went 3-1 last Saturday at the Valentine Invite to improve their record to 13-17 on the season.

The Cardinals hit just .032 as a team in an opening 25-23, 25-11 loss to Ainsworth, but Chadron would bounce back to take the next three.

Chadron would hit.273 with 7 kills from Demi Ferguson and 5 from Marlee Pinnt in a 25-16, 25-10 sweep of Cozad.

It took the Cardinals three sets against the host team Valentine, dropping the first set 25-22, before rebounding to take the next two 25-16, 25-11. Ferguson hit double digit kills with 10 and Taverra Sayaloune added 8.

Cadron closed out the day by defeating Holdrege 25-15, 25-23. Ferguson and Sayaloune shined again with 10 kills a piece.

Head Coach Blakelee Hoffman shared her thoughts on the day saying, “The first match against Ainsworth was expectedly rough (considering Homecoming). We bounced back really well against Cozad and carried that momentum into the Valentine and Holdrege matches. This was a good weekend for the girls; we needed these wins to build up the confidence we have been lacking since Gothenburg.”

The Cards go on the road Thursday to take on Alliance.
