Nebraska high school boys golf districts were Monday and Chadron qualified for state as a team, finishing 3rd in the C5 district.
Chadron shot a 334 as a team to finish behind district champion Kearney Catholic’s 301 and Amherst’s 323.
      Broc Berry was the only Cardinal to finish in the top 10. He was part of a 4-way tie with the 4th-lowest score with a 76, but finishing in 7th place after a playoff.
Zane Cullers shot an 84, Andrew Gothard an 86, Tobin Meyer an 88, and Trey Hendrickson a 91. No one from G/R made the cut for state.
Kearney Catholics. Nash Malone and Tate Redinger went 1-2 with a 69 and 73, respectively, with Mitchell’s Cael Peters 3rd at 65.
Hemingford shot a 363 to edge North Platte St Pat’s by 5 strokes to take the Class D-5 District title and a berth at state while Crawford’s Rhett Flack qualified for state as an individual after placing 3rd with an 82.
Kyler Lusche of Kimball took individual honors from Hemingford’s Dax Powell in a playoff after they shot matching 80s. Kimball also grabbed the 3rd team berth at state.
The Class C State tournament is at the Elks Country Club Course in Columbus with Class D at the Lake Maloney Golf Club near North Platte.
The Scottsbluff Country Club is hosting the Class B tournament while Class A is at the Norfolk Country Club. All four run next Tuesday and Wednesday, May 21st and 22nd
