The Chadron Public Library holds its Summer Reading Program Kick-Off Party and Sign-Up today from 2:30-5:00 at the Library.
Children’s Librarian Josie Semroska says the Summer Reading Program is several weeks longer than usual this year, starting today and running until just a week or so before classes start this August.
Semroska says today’s Kick-Off Party includes food, games, prizes, and music.
Semroska says the program is open to all kids ages 6 months to 18 years and offers a lot more than just reading.
Still, Semroska says the idea behind the annual summer reading program is to offer a fun way to help keep kids reading while school is out. All Together Now participants have a chance to earn prizes based on their reading between now and August 5th
