Chadron police are asking the public for help in identifying the man who burglarized a CDB shop near downtown Chadron on Wednesday night.

Officer Sam Cafferty says police responding to a burglar alarm that went off at Homer’s Eagles Roost on East 3rd Street at 10:47 pm found the glass of the front door was broken.

The building was cleared and searched, but officers found no one inside. Cafferty and Officer Christine Hanson took photographs and gathered evidence at the scene, then were given security video of the break-in.

Cafferty says the video showed a man fleeing east on Hwy 20, which is 3rd Street in Chadron. Photos of the suspect have been released with the police asking the public to help identify the man.

Cafferty says anyone able to identify the man or who has any information connected to the crime to call the Chadron Communication Center at 308-432-0510

He says they also email him at scafferty@chadronpd.com or Officer Hanson at chanson@chadronpd.com.
