Quinn Bailey rushed for over 175 yards and three touchdowns as Chadron secured a spot in the C-1 playoffs with a 28-21 win over McCook in the home and regular season finale on Friday night.
The Cardinals jumped on the board early with Bailey’s first score three minutes into the game from 18 yards out and a pass from Broc Berry to Talen Jelinek increased the Chadron lead to 14-0 heading to the half.
McCook would cut the deficit in half, but Chadron would answer with a Bailey touchdown every time.
Chadron will take a 6-3 record into the playoffs, their first appearance since 2021. The win also snapped McCook’s streak of 23 consecutive playoff appearances.
