Chadron Squads Lose At Home To Sidney

The Chadron High boys and girls were swept at home on Friday night by Sidney in games moved up due to incoming winter weather.

Unlike the first meeting between the girls teams that went back and forth, Sidney established themselves in the paint early, built a 17-point halftime lead and cruised to a 53-31 win over the Cardinals.

Demi Ferguson scored 12 points for Chadron and Reese Riddle had 15 for Sidney.

The Chadron boys cut a 16-point 2nd half deficit down to 6 points with just over :10 seconds left in the game, but Sidney held on for a 67-62 win. Gage Wild had a layup at the buzzer for the final margin.

Wild and Brady Daniels combined for 5 three pointers in the 4th to lead the charge but untimely turnovers kept Chadron from getting over the hump.

Wild finished with a game high 20 points. Sidney’s Jaeden Dillihay matched Wild with 20.

Daniels and Xander Provance added 18 and 16 for the Cards.

Chadron is back home on Tuesday against Alliance.
