The Chadron High volleyball team went 2-1 on Saturday and captured 3rd place in the Silver bracket of the Twin City Invite.
Chadron opened the day with a 25-9, 26-24 sweep of Rapid City Central, a team they also beat on Friday.
Demi Ferguson tallied 10 kills in the win, and the team as a whole had 9 ace serves.
The Cardinals fell to Alliance in the semifinals 25-18, 25-22. Their 2nd loss of the season to the Bulldogs.
Ferguson along with Marlee Pinnt had 5 kills a piece. Jaleigh McCartney had 4. Ashlyn Morrison collected a pair of blocks.
In the 3rd place game Chadron fended off Burn 25-23, 25-16 to move their record to 9-12 on the season.
Once again Ferguson led the way in kills with 6.
Head Coach Blakelee Hoffman said, “I was really happy with going 2-1 today. We still have some little things to work on before playing Rapid City Christian on Tuesday, but I thought we made several improvements from day one to day two that really paid off.”
Chadron will host Rapid City Christian on Tuesday.
