This weekend, Dawes County Fairgrounds was packed with cars and people, coming out for the Annual Festival of Quilts. All three days were filled with trunk shows, where individuals displayed their handiwork. Everyone was invited to walk around the two buildings and look at the hanging quilts. Each piece held a paper with the quilt’s name, who it was pieced by, and the story of why they made that quilt.
Fabric bingo and strip poker also were a hit with the crowd. Several sewing and piecing demonstrations went on throughout the days as well.
Newcomers were encouraged to participate in a Scavenger Hunt and raffle tickets as well as a quilt ballot was also operating.
Several vendors were there including Journey Back Quilts, Quacky Quilter Haberdashery, Seam Etc, and Sew Blessed.
