Funeral Services for 36-year old Christine Yellow Horse are Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 10:00 at the Woyatan Lutheran Church in Rapid City, SD, with Minister Jonathan Old Horse officiating.
Burial is at Christ Church Episcopal Cemetery in Red Shirt Table, SD
A one-night wake starts Monday, October 18, at 4:00, also at the Woyatan Lutheran Church with evening services starting at 7:00.
Masks and Hand Sanitizer will be provided as precautionary measures to keep family and friends safe.
Christine Faith Yellow Horse was born on April 14, 1985 to Coleen Swan and Verdell Yellow Horse in Rapid City, SD. Christine made her journey to the Spirit World on October 10, 2021 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Christine was given the name “Neena” by our oldest sister when they were little because she could not pronounce Christine. Neena loved all things care bears, rainbow, unicorn, glitter, and stitch! She really enjoyed reading and writing inspirational quotes because she was so loving, caring, and colorful.
Christine is survived by her parents, Coleen and Verdell; daughter, Jaylyn LaReyna; sisters, Jenna, Jaimie, and Marissa; two brothers, Wilbert and Verdell; fifteen nieces, thirteen nephews, her aunt, Lisa Swan; uncles, Orlando and Mike; cousins, Tarah Martinez, Tanna & Orlando “Oats” Swan, Trevor & Tawny Brown, KoltLen, SaTerra, & Faith Yellow Horse, and Alicia, Chauncey, and Kelly Swan.
Christine was preceded in death by her son, Baby George Lee; brother, Schuyler Lee; sister, Jessica LaVerne; her cousin, Mario Swan; maternal grandparents, Faith Fleury-Swan of Crow Creek, SD, and Orlando Swan, Sr. of Eagle Butte, SD; paternal grandparents, Verna Brave-Yellow Horse of Oglala, SD and Verdell Yellow Horse of Red Shirt, SD; and great grandmother, Pearl E. Swan of Eagle Butte, SD.
