Organizers say this month’s Show the Light in Your Heart fundraiser for the Circle of Light cancer support program at Chadron Community Hospital was another big success.
Coordinator Jodi Danner says the event attended by over 300 people raised more than $52,000 between ticket sales, 157 silent auction items, and 47 live auction items.
Danner says thank yous are due all around – to the generous businesses and individuals who donated, the attendees, and everyone who helped with the fundraiser in any way.
Circle of Light is a non-profit program that was started by a grant in 2009 from the Susan G Komen Foundation to help breast cancer patients.
It was quickly expanded with local fundraisers to cover patients in Dawes, SIoux, and Sheridan Counties with all types of cancer – providing funds that can be used for a wide range of patient needs including medical, living, and travel expenses.
Between fundraisers, donations, memorials, and grants, Circle of Light has given out over $792,000 to more than 300 area cancer patients – totals that will continue to grow with the results of this year’s Show the Light in Your Heart.
