
    The South Dakota Highway Patrol says a 2-vehicle accident between a car and a moped Tuesday morning in Custer claimed 2 lives.
Names have not been released.
The Patrol says its preliminary investigation shows the car stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Hwy 16A and a city street about 10:45, then pulled out in front of the moped, which was eastbound on the highway.
The 67-year old male driver and 74-year old female passenger of the moped became separated from the vehicle. Both were wearing helmets, but sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Both the 78-year-old female driver of the car and her 79-year old male passenger were wearing seatbelts and were not injured.
