COVID Risk Unchanged In Panhandle; Dawes County Death Only One In A Week

      The Panhandle Public Health District’s COVID-19 Risk Dial didn’t move this week, staying right on the line between green or low risk and the yellow or moderate zone with the Risk Level at 1.00,

      Panhandle Unified Command reported 37 new confirmed cases Monday to Monday with one additional death, a Dawes County woman in her 80s.

The Panhandle has now had 9,154 cases – 30 in the last 14 days, with 5 hospitalizations and 197 deaths.

       Dawes County has had 767 cases, 5 in the last 14 days, and 20 deaths while Sheridan County is at 539 cases, only 1 in the last 2 weeks, and 21 deaths.

       Box Butte County had confirmed 951 cases, 4 in the last 14 days, and 11 deaths while Sioux County is at 31 cases and 1 death with no new cases for 3 months.

       Statewide, Nebraska reported 41 new confirmed cases Tuesday with no deaths and 45 people hospitalized with COVID-19. The state has had 223,888 cases and 2,258 deaths since the start of the pandemic. 

      Nebraska has administered over 1.757-million doses of vaccine with 50.2% of all residents having at least one shot and 45.3% or more than 863,000 individuals now fully vaccinated. 

    South Dakota health officials reported 23 new confirmed cases on Tuesday along with 50 recoveries, and no deaths. There are 186 active cases, 29 of them hospitalized, with 109,070 total cases and 2,026 deaths. 

     South Dakota has administered over 674,000 doses of vaccine to almost 361,000 individuals. 55.9% of all residents have received at least 1 dose with more than 342,000 individuals or 51.2%  of the population now through the full vaccine series.
