Fall From Cliff West Of Sheridan Claims Life Of Woman

     Authorities in northern Wyoming say a woman in her late 20’s died around dawn today after falling off a cliff in the Bighorn Mountains about 20 miles west of Sheridan.

  . The Sheridan County Sheriff’s is withholding the woman’s name pending notification of family.

       The Sheriff’s Office says a witness reported the fall from Steamboat Point around 5:50 AM with emergency responders finding the body about 7:15. 

      Steamboat Point overlooks Hwy 14 with the clifftop reachable by a steep trail less than a mile long, but authorities say how the woman fell is unknown.
