Crash Near Custer Claims One Life


     The South Dakota Highway Patrol says a 45-year old man was killed early Thursday morning in a one-vehicle accident near Custer.

       Preliminary crash information indicates the man was eastbound on Hwy 16A about 8 miles east of Custer when his late-model pickup crossed the centerline, went into the ditch and hit a tree.

       The driver, who was alone, was wearing a seat belt but was still pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred about 12:45 AM.
