Conference track season is here as track and field teams from across the panhandle took part in their conference meets over the past few days. Friday saw the Panhandle Conference meet take place in Morrill with Crawford, Hay Springs, and Sioux County amongst other schools making the journey.
It was a great day for schools along Highway 20 as eight event titles were won amongst the schools along with Crawford claiming the girls team title.
Crawford had the majority of the event wins with freshman Leah Holmgren winning the 400 and long jump, junior Peyton Osmotherly claiming the 800, and senior Keslyn Vogel winning the 300 meter hurdles. The other Crawford wins came when the 4×400 team of Channon Ison, Peyton Osmotherly, Vogel and Holmgren ran a time of 4:32.44 to take the win along with the winning 4×800 team of Isom, Emma Norman, Kylee and Peyton Osmotherly.
Hay Springs had a pair of winners with Alaina Raymer taking the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.20 along with the boys 4×800 team of Parker Wellnitz, Arian Mata, Easton Mintken, and Mason Albrecht.
Sioux Counties top performer on the day was Victoria Tuberville getting second in shot put with a throw of 33’ 8.75”.
Team wise Crawford took the girls title with Hay Springs coming in fourth and Sioux County in seventh. On the boys side Hay Springs was the top finisher in third with Crawford coming in fifth.
