Crawford Ladies Win in OT

The Crawford Lady Rams edged out Cody-Kilgore in overtime Friday 55-54.

Cody-Kilgore owned the first half, taking an 11-7 lead after one period and holding a six-point advantage at half-time. The Rams adjusted in the second half, however, to close within three points. Trailing 38-35 entering the fourth quarter, Crawford used a 14-11 run to tie the contest at 49 at the end of regulation.

The Rams netted six points in overtime and held the Cowgirls to five points to earn the hard-fought win. No stats for the game are available.

The Lady Rams were also in action against Niobrara County and Lingle-Fort Laramie last week. Britney Klein led Crawford with 23 points in a Jan. 31 loss to Niobrara County 55-46. Kylah Vogel added 14 points for the Rams, and Kaylee Juhnke led the team with eight rebounds. Crawford also suffered a loss Saturday to Lingle-Fort Laramie, dropping the contest 58-44. The Rams are now 8-12 on the year.

In boys’ action, Crawford dropped all three contests and are 6-12 overall. Taylor Homan led Crawford with 22 points in a 71-55 loss to Niobrara County. Carter Rudloff added 15 points and earned the double-double with 13 rebounds. Cody-Kilgore posted a 58-43 victory over the Rams Friday, and Lingle-Fort Laramie defeated Crawford 66-41 Saturday. Crawford trailed by five at half-time against Saturday, but a big second half by LFL let them cruise to the win. Stats for the latter two games are not available.
