The Crawford Livestock Market on Friday hosted the annual Greater Midwest Livestock Auctioneer Contest with 23 auctioneers from across the region competing.
The contest rotated each of them through at least 8 drafts of cattle to actual bidders during the course of Crawford Livestock’s regular Friday Sale.
Taking top honors was Sixton Paiz of Portales, NM, who works at the Western Oklahoma Livestock Auction, the Abilene Livestock Market, and in Woodward, LA.
Reserve champion was Brandon McLagan of Elmer, MO. His busy schedule includes the Russell Livestock Market in Russell, IA; the Knoxville Regional Livestock Auction in Knoxville, IA; Windsor Livestock Auction in Windsor, MO; Fort Scott Livestock Market in Fort Scott, KS; and MoKan Livestock Market in Butler, MO
Rookie of the Year and runner-up to the two champions was Tyler Bell of Anderson, TX, and Brazos Valley Livestock. Local auctioneer Tristan Hunter placed in the top 10.
