The Chadron State College Community Symphonic Band and Community Chorus both begin their 2022-23 seasons with the first rehearsals this week.
The band is up first tonight with the chorus on Thursday. Rehearsals for both run from 7:00-8:30 in Memorial Hall. Both groups are open to all area residents as well as CSC students.
The Community Band is led by CSC Director of Bands Dr John Wojcik, who says all levels of musicians are welcome, even those who may not have played for a few years.
The band will perform at two concerts in Memorial Hall this fall. The first is Friday, Nov 4, and will be shared with the college Wind Symphony. The second is the annual CSC Holiday Concert Thursday, Dec 8, when the two bands will merge and play together.
Community Chorus is led by CSC Vocal Music Director Dr Joel Schreuder. It will have a single concert, Sunday, Nov 8, along with the college choir. Each group will perform separately before concluding the concert with several joint numbers.
