The search for the successor to Chadron State College President Dr Randy Rhine is nearing its end with the choice likely less than a month away.
State College System Chancellor Paul Turman says the Search Committee has narrowed the pool to a group of semifinalists and expects to bring 4 finalists to the campus for interviews and visits on April 4th and 5th.
Turman expects the committee to submit its list of finalists to the College System Trustees at the board’s regular meeting later this week at Peru State with the names to be released next week.
Names don’t have to be released until the finalists are selected.
Chancellor Turman says the April campus visits will see each candidate have a meeting with Dr Rhine’s cabinet and an open forum with faculty and staff as well as tours of the campus and community.
Each will also have an open forum with students, the Chadron State Foundation, alumni, and the community that will likely be on Zoom as well as in person.
Turman says the Chadron State presidency drew “a large pool of very talented applicants” that left the Search Committee and Search Advisory Committee “extremely pleased” with their “quality and depth of experience.”
Dr Rhine announced in November that he’s retiring after 18 years at Chadron State, the last 11 as president or interim president, when his current contract expires in June.
