Burial is at the Native American Church Cemetery in Porcupine, SD

A two-night wake service starts Monday, March 6, at 2:00 at the Evergreen Community Building in Evergreen.

Cynthia Bessie Byrd was born on June 3, 1970 in Porcupine, SD to Guy Byrd and Margie (Little Boy) Byrd. Cynthia made her journey to the Spirit World on February 24, 2023 at her home in Pine Ridge, SD.

Cynthia is survived by her mother Margie Byrd; sons Edward Yankton, Lavan Yankton, Joe Yankton, Gnuo Yankton, Leo Yankton, and Benjamin Yankton; sister Charlene Byrd; brothers Sylvester Byrd, Alfred Byrd, and Virgil Byrd; aunt Martha Yankton; and nephew Noah Yankton.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her father Guy Byrd; maternal grandparents Stanley & Hattie Little Boy; aunt Rose Little Boy; uncles Everette Little Boy, Sydney Byrd, and Harry Byrd; and cousins Hehaka Little Boy and Frank Stoldt.

Pallbearers will be Allen White Butterfly, Ted Pourier Sr, Virgil Byrd Jr, Ranzel Lays Bad, Darnell Lays Bad Jr, Griffin Cross, Franklin Yankton, Tuffy Little Boy, and Aries Blue Stone Weaver.
