Burial follows at 12:30 at the Mt View Cemetery, Rapid City, SD
Viewing precedes the service from 9:00-to-noon, also at the Mother Butler Center in Rapid City
Daniel Etsitty Yazzie was born on January 23, 1977 in Rosebud, SD to Fredrick Yazzie and Aleta (Eagle Tail) Cut Grass. Daniel made his journey to the Spirit World on August 29, 2021 in Rapid City, SD.
Daniel is survived by his father, Fredrick Yazzie; step-father, Ed Cut Grass; siblings, Sonya Bayona, Dulcey Cut Grass, Wendy Cut Grass, Deanna Cut Grass, Aleta (Roman) Rodriguez, Amber Cut Grass, Ashley (Chris) Cut Grass, and Rocky Yazzie; aunts, Clara Eagle Tail, Isabelle Gaddie, Phyllis DuBray, Carmel DuBray, Sally DeSersa, Paula Eagle Tail, and Neatia Eagle Tail; favorite uncles, Garland Not Afraid, Sr. and Dale Brown Wolf; favorite niece/partner in crime, Mileta Leigh Cut Grass, Neveah Cut Grass, Lolaa Cut Grass, and Isabella Rodriguez; nephews, CT Cut Grass, Marco Rodriguez, and Isaiah Cut Grass; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Daniel was preceded in death by his mother, Aleta (Eagle Tail) Cut Grass; brother, David Yazzie; and grandparents, Philomena “Jackie” Gunhammer, Birdie Spott, James “Jim” DuBray, and Florine DuBray.
Pallbearers will be Paul Kochutin, Chris Scheutzow, Charles Whitesell, Garland No Afraid, Sr., Ed Cut Grass, and Julius Not Afraid.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hermus Bettelyoun with the NDN Collective, and All Friends & Relatives.
