The Dawes County Board of Commissioners is strongly urging rural residents to refrain from using fireworks due to current dry conditions and the heightened risk of wildfires.
With ongoing fire activity across the state and extreme fire danger conditions, the potential for a fire to start and spread rapidly is exceptionally high.
The Board is asking all residents living outside city limits in Dawes County to avoid the use of fireworks and any open flames until conditions improve and it is safe to do so.
Your cooperation is appreciated and will help protect lives, property, livestock, and natural resources throughout the county.
