Funeral Services for 98-year old Dorothy Conner of Gordon, NE, are Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 10:00 AM at the United Methodist Church, Gordon, NE
Burial will be in the Gordon Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, July 9, from 6 to 8 PM at the Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home, Gordon, NE

Dorothy Conner was born into a loving, lively family in the Sandhills south of Gordon on Feb 6, 1923, and passed away July 3, 2021, at Pioneer Manor in Hay Springs.
Dorothy attended Gordon High School and married Martin Conner on July 3, 1941. She raised their 1st son while teaching school during Martin’s WW II service. After he returned home, he worked at the Saults ranch where Dorothy taught school and raised their family.Â
   Dorothy was always active in the community; she was a member of the United Methodist Church in Gordon, the Willow Tree Quilt guild, R.S.V.P. (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program), American Legion Auxiliary and the Princess Rebekah Lodge #65.
She also taught at rural schools in Cherry and Sheridan counties, attended Chadron Community College, and was a rural mail carrier. In her spare time, she liked to garden, paint, do crafts, read, and travel.Â
   Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Mabel Johns, and her husband Martin, her brothers Orvis and Fred, and sisters Mary and Mildred.
She is survived by her two sons, James (Dottie) and Dan (Kathy); her grandchildren Clifford, James, Alice, Suzanne, Josh, Alicia, and Kaci; her great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Â
