Funeral services for 70-year old Edgar Bear Runner Sr  are Monday, July 12, 2021 at 2:00 at the Porcupine Presbyterian Church in Porcupine, SD, with traditional Lakota services by Mr Jerome LeBeau

Burial is at the Bear Runner Family Cemetery in Porcupine

Visitation is Sunday, July 11, from 10:00 AM to noon at the Bear Runner residence, 2613 Castle Heights Place in Rapid City, SD, followed by an all-night wake service starting at 2:00 at the Porcupine Presbyterian Church in Porcupine

Edgar Donroy Bear Runner Sr “Zuya Ohitika” was born on May 28, 1951 in Pine Ridge, SD to Oscar Bear Runner and Grace (Rock) Bear Runner. Edgar made his journey to the Spirit World on July 4, 2021 in Rapid City, SD.

Edgar was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar & Grace Bear Runner; siblings, Donald Bear Runner, Harold Bear Runner, Lillian Bear Runner of Pine Ridge, SD, Leola Bear Runner of Kyle, SD, and Leslie Howard Bear Runner; grandparents, John Rock, Florence Lone Hill, Joseph Bear Runner, and Emma (Young Dog) Bear Runner; father-in-law, Harris Yellow Cloud, mother-in-law, Winifred White Eyes; brother-in-laws, Emmanuel Yellow Cloud and Steven Yellow Cloud; son-in-law, Edwin Kills In Water; and grandsons, James St. John, and Thomas St. John.

Edgar is survived by his wife of 45 years, Violet Bear Runner; children, Walitaka Bear Runner, Wambli (Stacey) Sargent-Bear Runner, Wakinyan Bear Runner, Wamni Yamni (Jesse) Bear Runner, Wakispe Bear Runner, Steven (Veronica) Jedlicka-Bear Runner, Edgar Bear Runner, Jr., Richard Bear Runner, Joseph Bear Runner, and Samuel Bear Runner; siblings, Dennis Bear Runner, Ramon Bear Runner, Beldine White Eyes of Porcupine, SD, and Dorothy Sandoval of Taos, NM; Hunka siblings, Leonard Peltier of Leavenworth, KS, Jim Robideaux of Kyle, SD, and Stan Holder of Gracemont, OK; 60 grandchildren, and 41 great-grandchildren.
