Funeral services for 72-year old Michael Tyon are Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 11:00 at Joyner Hall in Pine Ridge, SD, with Pastor Dan officiating.
Burial will be at the Holy Cross Episcopal Cemetery in Pine Ridge
A one-night wake service starts Monday, July 12, at 2:00, also at Joyner Hall in Pine Ridge
Michael was a veteran of the U-S Army.
Michael James Tyon was born on May 31, 1949 in Pine Ridge, SD to Leo Tyon and Alma Martin-Tyon. He made his journey to the Spirit World on July 4, 2021 at his home in Pine Ridge, SD.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Creedance (Mark) Janis-Brown Bull; son, Derek (Helene Bagola) Janis; grandchildren; Devon Janis, Terrell Janis, Deanna Janis, Dorian Janis, Gracie Brown Bull, Jasmine Brown Bull, Alanis Brown Bull, Aaliyah Giago, great grandchildren; Peirston Janis & Layla Few Tails and numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Alma Tyon; wife, Arlette Tyon; brother, Ramone “Spade” Tyon; nephew, David “RC” Janis, Marquise Mesteth, Correy Clifford, Shawn C. Clifford; granddaughter, Darla Brown Bull; sisters, Bessie Red Shirt-Matthews Agatha Red Shirt, Margaret Tyon, and Grace Red Shirt, Romana Tyon-Moran; and uncle, Roy Red Shirt, Bob Moran, Leon Tyon.
