The high school fall sports season officially wrapped up in Nebraska on Tuesday as the remainder of the state championship football games were played.
Norfolk Catholic and longtime coach Jeff Bellar shutout Hartington Cedar Catholic in the C2
championship 23-0, giving the winningest head coach in state history his 10th title and the Knights their 11th.
Pierce picked up their 2nd C1 championship in 3 seasons after a record setting performance from Nebraska commit Ben Brahmer which saw him make 11 catches for 249 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 42-14 win over Aurora. Brahmers yards are the most in the playoff game in state history.
Bennington ran away from Omaha Gross Catholic in the Class B championship 38-14. The game was tied at 7 after a quarter, but the Badgers grew the lead to 38-7 before Gross chased in with under a minute to go.
Congratulations to all of our area athletes that participated in the fall sports season.
