Former Husker Mark Pelini, Bo’s Nephew, Killed In Car Crash

Former Nebraska football center Mark Pelini, nephew of former Husker head coach Bo Pelini, was killed Sunday night in a car crash in Indiana. He was 31.

Indiana authorities say Pelini was westbound on the Indiana Toll Road around 8 pm when he hit a deer, crossed the center median, and collided with an eastbound pickup.

Both Pelini and his passenger, 31-year old Jillian Marian of Youngstown, Onio, were pronounced dead at the scene along with a 57-year old female front seat passenger from the pickup.

The 57-year old male driver and a 29-year old male passenger were hospitalized with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. All 3 occupants of the pickup were from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Mark Pelini played for Nebraska from 2010-2014 and was a double major in history and mathematics.
