The Fort Robinson Post Playhouse opens its 5 musical season tonight with the first performance of Leader of the Pack.
New Producing Artistic Director Andy Meyers says it’s a biography of Ellie Greenwich, one of the top pop songwriters of the 1950s and 60s whose works include Leader of the Pack,
Meyers is especially excited about the dancing because a young but veteran Broadway dancer has come out from New York City to be the choreographer.
There are good seats remaining for the opening weekend, which has performances tonight and tomorrow night at 8:00 and Sunday at 2:00.
The second of this year’s shows, an adaptation of the board game Clue, opens next Friday with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat a week after that.
You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown joins the rotation on the last Friday in June with the final show, The Spitfire Grill, opening the first Friday in July.
Single show tickets are available, but Meyers says the best deal is a Season Subscription, which offers drastically discounted tickets to 4 or 5 different shows. You don’t have to pick the dates or times at purchase.
Tickets can be ordered by phone or online and Meyers recommends taking those options to avoid the disappointment of going to the Playhouse to buy tickets and getting turned away because they’re sold out.
Meyers also gives a big shout out to this year’s 3 season sponsors: Casey Peterson LTD – formerly the CPA firm GLC, Chadron State College, and Security First Bank.
