Geraldine Faith Fast Horse was born on November 28, 1943 in Pine Ridge, SD to Joseph Fast Horse, SR. and Annie (Broken Rope) Fast Horse. Geraldine made her journey to the Spirit World on November 29, 2021 at the Pine Ridge I.H.S. Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD.
Geraldine graduated from Oglala Lakota College in 1988 with a Bachelor’s Degree. She was employed with the Head Start Program for approximately 20 years before retiring. Geraldine was a fun and loving person and people were drawn to her, but she was also very compassionate and would keep people who had nowhere to go.
Geraldine is survived by her spouse, Joseph Valandra; sons, Andrew Little Moon, Walter Francis Little Moon, and Martin Valandra; siblings, Cecelia Spotted Bear, Patricia Fast Horse, and Darrell Fast Horse; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Fast Horse, Sr. and Annie (Broken Rope) Fast Horse; sisters, Arlene Valandra and Violet Fast Horse; brothers, Joseph Fast Horse, Sr. and Talbert Fast Horse; children, Michael Little Moon, Patrick Little Moon, and Ann Marie Little Moon; and grandson, Freedom Provencial.
Pallbearers will be Rodney White Bear Claws, Derek Returns, Patrick Little Moon, Rueben Little Moon, Alex “Al Winds” Winters, Harris Red Ear Horse, Isaiah Little Moon, and Alan Fast Horse.
