Gordon Ray Standing Bear was born on March 5, 1969 in Pine Ridge, SD to Isadore John Conquering Bear and Evelyn (Black Eyes) Standing Bear. Gordon made his journey to the Spirit World on February 4, 2022 at the St. James Nursing Home in Yankton, SD.
Gordon is survived by his father, Isadore John Conquering Bear; daughters, Ampering (Andrew) Blue Bird, Jordie DuBray, Evelyn Standing Bear & Paul Steen, Tori DuBray, Sarah Johnson, and Yolanda Standing Bear; sons, Gordon Standing Bear, Jr. and Carl James DuBray; brothers, Carl Standing Bear, Sr., Gene Standing Bear, Sr., Isaac Standing Bear, Michael, Richard, Peter, John, Jr., Ronald, Alex, and David Conquering Bear; sisters, Robin, Karoline, & Patricia Standing Bear, Devona, Connie, Hope, and Christina Conquering Bear; and grandchildren, Lashaya & Andrew Joeckel, Shanna, Bailey, Victoria, Vicent Ray, Nicole, Linda, and Cante Skuya Featherman.
Gordon was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn (Edsel) Black Eyes-Standing Bear; grandparents, Adam & Jennie (Ruff) Black Eyes, Edgar & Susie (Cedar) Standing Bear, and Joshua & Edith (Marshall) Conquering Bear; brother, Jerome Hastings-Black Eyes; sisters, Jenny Standing Bear and Maudie Grace Standing Bear; aunt, Marjie (Conquering Bear) Morrison; and uncles, Doug & Jack Conquering Bear.
