Funeral services for 66-year old Harlan Fire Thunder are Sat, Nov 19, 2022 at 1:00 at the Wounded Knee District School in Manderson, SD, with Mother Michelle Dayton officiating and traditional Lakota services by Charles New Holy.

Burial is at St Mary’s Episcopal Cemetery in Grass Creek, Manderson, SD

A one-night wake service starts Friday, Nov 18, at 4:00 at the Wounded Knee District School in Manderson with evening services at 7:00

Harlan Eric Fire Thunder was born on February 9, 1966 in Pine Ridge, SD to Bluch Fire Thunder Sr and Lucille (Little) Fire Thunder.  Harlan made his journey to the Spirit World on November 11, 2022 at the Pine Ridge I.H.S. Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD.  

Harlan is survived by his spouse Georgette Fire Thunder; children Sage Fire Thunder, Shelby Fire Thunder, and Matthew Fire Thunder; grandchildren Jaleo, Kyle, Aleiyah, & Harley Fire Thunder; brothers AV Fire Thunder and Raymond Stands; sisters Ingrid One Feather, Leah Fire Thunder, and Luci Fire Thunder; hunka siblings Rick & May Josefcyzk, Donovan Steele, Chris Twiss, Brian Pille, Phoebe Running Hawk, Ivis Long Visitor, and Mary Little Hawk; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Harlan was preceded in death by his parents Bluch and Lucille Fire Thunder; brother Bluch Fire Thunder Jr; sister Lita (Fire Thunder) Running Hawk; and grandparents William & Lottie (Iron Boy) Fire Thunder and Amos Iron Hawk-Little and Mary (No Water) Little.

Pallbearers will be Brian Pille, Rick Josefcyck, Chris Twiss, Corwin Bagola, Brian Good Buffalo, Bobby Pille, Mel Twiss, and Paul John Fire Thunder.

Honorary pallbearers will be O.S.T. Rural Water Supply System, Rosebud Sioux Tribe Water and Sewer, and All Friends & Relatives.
