A celebration of life for 45-year old former Chadron resident Janelle Johnson Wages will be Saturday, May 25th at 1:00 pm at the Methodist Church hall in Rushville, 119 Sprague Street.
Memorial services were held on Feb 3, 2024 in Denver, Colorado.
Janelle was born on Oct 10, 1978, to Janet and Tim Johnson in Lincoln, NE, and left us suddenly on Jan 11, 2024.
Janelle grew up in Chadron, where she lived through her school years. She played several sports in high school and played volleyball in college while earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Chadron State College.
After college, Janelle played recreational paintball, moving to semi-professional paintball in many competitions all over the United States with her dad, mom, and teammates.
After living in Rapid City, SD, for several years, Janelle moved to Thornton in 2011, where she lived at the time of her passing.
When Janelle was not working in her career as a barber, she loved enjoying the beauty of Colorado, hiking with her dogs during the warmer months and partaking in snow sports during the winter.
Janelle will always be remembered as a creative person that enjoyed painting, crafts involving glitter, and extreme Halloween costumes.
She was a lover of animals and had recently developed an obsession for exotic plants, but could often be found at sporting events supporting the Rockies or the Broncos.
Two of Janelle’s biggest loves were candy and the sun, which often took her to a sandy location at a nearby lake or beautiful beaches in the Caribbean.
Janelle leaves behind a void that will never be filled, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved her and were loved by her.
Janelle is survived by her parents, Tim and Janet Johnson of Chadron; her sister Jennifer (Larry) Dant of Elkhorn, NE; nieces Adrienne and Avery Dant, who she loved very much; and countless other family members and friends.
