Janaiya Rae Marks was born on March 2, 2023. in Omaha, NE, to Mariah Marks. Janaiya made her journey to the Spirit World on March 5, 2023 at the Omaha Children’s Hospital in Omaha, NE.
Janaiya is survived by her mother Mariah Marks; big sister Amilia; grandmothers Rona Richard and Elizabeth Black Elk; great-grandparents Deborah Black Elk, Faye Pulliam, and Timothy “Ozzy” Pacer; aunts Miranda Marks, Wowicala Richard, Ayanna Lessert, and Alora Black Elk; uncles Raymond Marks III, WicapiIyoyunpa Richard, Dwight Richard, Kaleb Black Elk, and Carlus Marks Sr; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Janaiya was preceded in death by Baby Luke Marks, Baby Marks/Running Shield; grandfather Raymond Marks Jr; grandmother Miranda Richard; great-grandfather,Dwight “Hamm” Black Elk; great-grandmother Auriela Marks; and great-grandfathers Raymond Marks Sr and Ronald Richard.
