A Celebration of Life for 70-year old Joann (Two Two) Ratcliff will be Friday, August 5, 2022 at noon at the Sioux Funeral Home in Pine Ridge, SD, with Clarence Ratcliff officiating and traditional Lakota services by Gregory Ross

Cremation will follow the services with burial be held at a later date

Visitation precedes and follows the Celebration from 10:00-1:00, also at the Sioux Funeral Home in Pine Ridge, SD.

Joann did not want a traditional wake and funeral, so to honor her wishes following the services will be a Celebration of Life Dinner at the Harold Goggleye residence, 2 miles east of Pine Ridge on Highway 18. Please bring your own chairs and umbrellas.

Joann Beverly (Two Two) Ratcliff was born on December 31, 1951 in Wounded Knee, SD to Vienna (Matthews) Two Two and Norbert (Sheo) Two Two. Joann made her journey to the Spirit World on July 29, 2022 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.

Joann grew up in Wounded Knee and Pine Ridge, SD with her 10 siblings. As a young adult she relocated to Oregon to attend Job Corps. There she met Clarence Ratcliff and moved to the City of Roses – Portland, Oregon – to raise her 5 children.  She traveled up and down the West Coast and around Mt Hood and Mt St Helens with her family, who brought much joy to her life.

Joann had a love for helping people and eventually decided to get her CNA certificate. In 1996, she brought her love for helping people back to SD and worked at nursing homes throughout the Black Hills. 

Joann was an avid Bingo player. She also loved putting her 1000-piece puzzles together. Joann was a one-of-a-kind woman. She is greatly missed.

Joann is survived by her daughters, Pamela Two Two of Portland OR, and Valerie Two Two of Anaheim, CA; sons, Clarence Edward “Eddie” Ratcliff, Robert “Rah Rah” Ratcliff and Thomas “Tom Tom” Ratcliff, All of Portland, OR; sisters, Sylvia Red Cloud and Linda Two Two, both of Pine Ridge SD; brothers, Michael Two Two of Rapid City, SD and Al Two Two of Pine Ridge, SD; 23 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews.

Joann was preceded in death by her parents, Norbert & Vienna Two Two; sisters, Mary Two Two and Ramona Two Two; brothers, Leroy Two Two, Newton ‘Nuki’ Two Two, Joey Two Two, Aloysius “Wee Wee” Two Two, and Clifford ‘Cliffy’ Two Two.

Honorary pallbearers will be All Friends & Relatives.
